A November to Remember.

As you know, the voices you hear on WDVR are those of volunteers. For the second year in a row, WDVR brings you the voices and stories of other volunteers: our neighbors who volunteer their time and talents with local organizations that provide shelter, counsel, sustenance, education, connection and more for the good of our communities and to those in need.

During Volunteers Month, WDVR talk shows, like Stepping Stones and Let’s Talk, feature non-profit community organizations from our listening area. Additionally, Volunteer Spotlight segments – short interviews with local volunteers sharing their stories of community involvement – will air throughout the program schedule. And, you can learn more about our Spotlight Organizations right here. Click the links on this page to hear more from their volunteers, learn about their organizations, and possibly discover opportunities to raise your own hand!

“We at WDVR are all volunteers here at WDVR. We feel a special responsibility to recognize others who dedicate part of their lives to serving good causes that help make our corner of the world a better place.”
— Hilary Murray, Host & Volunteer, Stepping Stones

Some thoughts Frank and Ginny, our founders, expressed in 2010 about volunteerism.

As WDVR continues to grow and evolve, we endeavor to remain true to principles and values of our founders.

The essence of life is to serve others and to do good.
