You are about to Take the Mic at WDVR for an hour and enjoy a truly memorable experience !
Once your purchase has been confirmed, get ready for your time in The Old Blacksmith Shop, WDVR’s historic studio in Sergeantsville, NJ. Here’s how!
Your Step-by-Step Guide
1. Contact Carla: Call Carla at 609-397-1620 ext. 0 to discuss the type of music you'd like to play and determine a date. Most are done on Saturday at 4 or 5pm. You can record a short promo here in advance with us to enhance your experience and attract listeners.
2. Music Focused: This opportunity is for playing music only—no talk shows or promotional content. Let’s focus on celebrating your favorite tunes and having fun!
3. Bring a Guest: Feel free to bring a friend to observe in the studio.
4. Live or Pre-Recorded: If you’re not comfortable going live, we can arrange to pre-record your show in advance.
5. Plan Ahead: Schedule your session at least two weeks in advance to ensure we can accommodate your preferred date. Most TTM playlists are not suitable for specific shows to host you. There are exceptions. Give us your shirt size for the souvenir “I Took the Mic” Tee.
6. Share Your Playlist: Submit your playlist before your scheduled session. We cannot air music sourced from YouTube, or cassette tapes. Playlists should be aligned with audience preferences. WDVR listeners generally do not favor Heavy Metal, Rap or some forms of Electronic/digital generated sounds. All songs must have clean lyrics.
7. Music Formats: Bring your music on CDs, a laptop, or another device. Vinyl is discouraged due to difficulty handling it easily. If needed, we’ll try to find your selections. Apple phones do not accept our cable connection.
8. Don’t Forget Your Certificate: Bring your gift certificate with you. Note: Headphones are not required.
9. Get a Recording of Your Show:
Bring a flash drive for a copy of your recording.
Alternatively, we can email an MP3 or burn a CD for you.
10. Studio Access & Parking:
Stairs: Be aware that studio access requires climbing stairs.
Parking: Behind our building. Use wider driveway next to white house.
Additional Parking: Use the Township Building lot on corner or street.
Important: Do not park at the Sergeantsville Inn.
