A PA Forward Gold Star Library

This is a full-service library providing 22,000 card holders with over 120,000 print and non-print items including books, magazines, music, and movies.

Our annual library attendance is over 200,000 (an average of more than 700 persons per day)! 70% of the township's 39,304 residents are library cardholders. Clearly, it's a popular place to be.

The library completed a large expansion project in Fall 2006. We have now tripled in size - come check out our new materials, services, and space.

Whether you need to find research materials for a project, want a quiet place to meet and study, or just want a cup of coffee and a good book - the Free Library of Northampton Township is the place for you.

The Free Library of Northampton Township is a member of the Bucks County Library Network. To search the Library catalog, learn more about the other libraries in the network, or access links to the Internet, go to www.buckslib.org.

The library has a lot to offer YOU:

  • Computers with internet access and word processing

  • Online databases for all your research needs

  • A wireless hotspot!

  • Trained reference librarians: ask us anything and we'll help you find the answers you need

  • Fun programs for kids, teens and adults

  • Opportunities for community service and volunteering

Other Options for Donating Books:

Benefit App

Use a simple app to support the library!

Do you shop at Walmart, Target, or Amazon? Do you eat at IHOP, Cheesecake Factory, or Applebees?
You could be helping your library!

Download the new app, Benefit (available in the App Store or Google Play), and you can buy and use gift cards instantly on your mobile device. For each gift card purchased, a percentage gets donated to the library. When you register, search by zip code for organizations to receive the rebate (you will find Friends-Free Library of Northampton Township under the zip code 18954).

Support the things that matter most by using digital gift cards when shopping for your summer wardrobe, booking airline tickets, or even indulging in a latte. The Benefit mobile app brings purpose to your fingertips, allowing your favorite cause to benefit on the spot from your everyday spending.

How to earn while you shop:

  • Shop—Buy gift cards and have them delivered to your phone within seconds.

  • Redeem—Use them for your everyday purchases in the checkout line or at home.

  • Earn—Earn rebates on every purchase. Apply them to the Friends of the Free Library of Northampton Township.

Each month an electronic check goes out to the library!

For more information or to download the Benefit app, visit www.benefit-mobile.com.

Volunteer your time at the library!

Help keep the shelves organized at the Northampton Township Library by becoming an Adopt-A-Shelf volunteer.  This is a flexible volunteer opportunity that can be done whenever the library is open.  You can monitor your assigned area as frequently as seems warranted and at your own scheduling convenience.  This is an ideal job for a volunteer who cannot commit to a set schedule and needs extremely flexible volunteer hours.

Tasks include making sure books are in order on the shelf, finding books that belong to other branches and checking the condition of the books.

We are currently looking for several volunteers to shelve books on a regular schedule.  It is requested that volunteers come in at least once a week for 1 or 2 hours.

Applications are available to print off online or can be obtained at the Circulation Desk.
